Lia Bradley, MSc Therapeutic Counselling

Hello, my name is Lia. I am an integrative therapist based in London.

I believe in therapy.

My own experience of therapy shaped my decision to become a therapist. I know what it can mean to have somewhere to bring the things that don't yet make sense, and to experience what it feels like to be truly seen.

What drew me to therapy was the language of trauma — not simply as something that happens to us, but as something that can become part of how we experience ourselves, our relationships and the world around us. Through relationship, we might begin to experience our histories differently.

Seeing, not just knowing.

For me, being a therapist isn't about having all the answers… Sometimes there isn't one.

What I can offer is a willingness to stay with you in those moments — to listen, to be curious, and to hold the feeling when it is difficult to make sense of.

I hope that when you are in the room with me, you feel held.

Working together

I work collaboratively, continually reassessing and negotiating with you — and with myself — what it is that you might need.

I won't tell you what you should do or try to fit you into a particular way of working. I'll bring my training, experience and perspective, while staying curious about what feels useful for you.

I hope to be someone you can depend on. What that means, and what it makes possible, will be different for each person.

A little about me

I'm a Third Culture Kid, and I've spent much of my life moving between places, cultures and different ideas of home and belonging.

Questions of belonging and not belonging, identity and connection have therefore been a longstanding part of my own life and curiosity. Perhaps this is part of what draws me to the spaces in between — where things aren't always one thing or another.

I work creatively, and this is something I value bringing into both my therapeutic work and the way I think about The Between Space. The photographs you see throughout this website are all my own

My Approach

My way of working is integrative. I draw from humanistic, person-centred, psychodynamic, existential and transpersonal approaches, because I don't believe there is one way of understanding a person — or one therapeutic approach that fits everyone.

I'm interested in what is happening for you in the here and now, as well as the experiences and relationships that have shaped you. Depending on what feels meaningful, we might explore patterns that keep repeating, parts of yourself that feel difficult to understand, questions around identity and meaning, or simply what it is like to be you right now.

Integrative

There isn't one way of understanding a person!

I draw from different therapeutic approaches and adapt our work to you, rather than asking you to fit into a particular way of working.

Existential

Making space for the questions without easy answers!

We might explore identity, meaning, relationships, choice, freedom and the uncertainties that come with being human.

Transpersonal

A blurry underwater scene with several yellow and orange fish swimming among green aquatic plants.

Making room for what can't always be put into words!

I'm interested in metaphor, dreams, symbolism and the unconscious, and how these can offer different ways of making meaning from our experience.
